Varazdat Haroyan Retires From Armenian National Team

Sports commentator Suren Meliksetyan wrote that one of the famous faces in Armenian football, Varazdat Haroyan, has announced his decision to leave the national team.

"I just spoke with Varazdat Haroyan. Vato decided to make a statement through me," Meliksetyan wrote and quoted Haroyan's statement: "I want to announce that I have decided to end my career in the Armenian national team. I have played 92 games in the happiest and most difficult periods of the national team.

Now it's time to say goodbye. I will also state the reason, as I have nothing to hide. I tried to work with our newly appointed coach once, it didn't work out. I don't want to a second time, because it won't work out. There is not even a desire to try," wrote Haroyan.

As we reported earlier, Yegishe Melikyan has been appointed as the new head coach of the Armenian National Team.
