The Armenian national team has a new head coach

John van 't Schip will no longer lead the Armenian national team, reports the Football Federation of Armenia. The 61-year-old Dutch coach was appointed to that position in February 2025.

The same source reports that Yeghishe Melikyan has become the head coach of the Armenian national team. The candidacy of the 46-year-old specialist was approved by the members of the FFA Executive Committee on August 6.

Speaking about his appointment, Yeghishe Melikyan said: "I realize the complexity of the moment and the full responsibility, but I am ready to walk this path with honor." Melikyan's contract will be valid until November 2026.
