The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia has responded to the publication by the Russian TASS agency that "Pakistan intends to recognize Armenia as a UN member state, in return for which it will receive a green light to join the Eurasian Economic Union."
"We inform uninformed sources that diplomatic relations have already been established between Armenia and Pakistan, in line with the fundamental principles of the UN Charter.
Developing bilateral cooperation, the two countries will also discuss issues related to interaction on multilateral platforms, be it the SCO, the EAEU, or other structures of mutual interest," stated Ani Badalyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
It is recalled that the TASS agency, citing its sources, had written that "Pakistan intends to recognize Armenia as a UN member state, in return for which it will receive a green light to join the Eurasian Economic Union."
"Pakistan really plans to do this and, as a reciprocal step, to receive consensus for joining the Eurasian Economic Union," the Russian agency quoted its interlocutor.
The agency's diplomatic source noted that the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan has left no obstacles for these processes.
