Yerevan Land Plot Worth 18M AMD Returned to State

By today's decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, a plot of land with a "settlement" designated purpose, with an area of 735 sq.m., located on the left side of Shiraz Street in the Ajapnyak administrative district of Yerevan city, was assigned to the State Property Management Committee of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure. The cadastral value, approximated to the market value, is 18 million 293 thousand drams.

RA Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan reminded that the Republic of Armenia's ownership right to the property was restored on August 5, 2025, as a result of the satisfaction of the claim filed by the Department for the Protection of State Interests of the General Prosecutor's Office by the Anti-Corruption Court.

"With the claim, we had asked the court to invalidate the sale and purchase agreement concluded between the Mayor of Yerevan and a physical person on February 1, 2003, and to apply the consequences of invalidity," noted the Republic's Prosecutor General and added that during January-September 2025, only within the scope of the authority to protect state and community interests, real estate with an area of 280,338 sq.m., with a cadastral value approximated to the market value of 3 billion 933 million drams, equivalent to about 10 million 276 thousand US dollars, the territory of 2 kindergartens and 1 stadium, have been returned to the Republic of Armenia, and 249 million drams, equivalent to 654 thousand US dollars, have been seized.

Anna Vardapetyan also informed that from December 5, 2024, to date (since its launch), an amount exceeding 20 billion drams, equivalent to 52 million 254 thousand US dollars, has been credited to the Unified Account of Recovered Assets.
