Yerevan's Leningradyan Street Renamed After Kirk Kerkorian

The Council of Elders adopted the decision to rename "Leningradyan" Street in Yerevan. Henceforth, it will bear the name of the national benefactor Kirk Kerkorian.

The project was presented to the council session by the head of the "Republic" faction, Ani Khachatryan.

The head of the "Mother Armenia" faction of the council, Manuk Sukiasyan, expressed the opinion that the decision has a political component, and the faction will abstain from voting on the project.

Artak Galstyan, a member of the "Public Voice" faction of the council, announced that the faction will vote in favor of the initiative and expressed the opinion that the issue should not be politicized.

The project was approved with a vote of 37 in favor, 2 against, and 18 abstentions.
