Yerevan Lost 5B AMD Due to Public Transport Boycott․ Gevorg Stepanyan

The damage caused by the Civil Contract party and by Avinyan personally to the Yerevan city budget in six months amounts to 5 billion AMD or 12.5 million dollars. This was written by Gevorg Stepanyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council of Elders.
"In January-June, revenue collection from transport has decreased by 5 billion AMD as a result of the citizens' justified boycott. The entry of fining 'controllers' onto transport will have the opposite effect," he noted.
Let us recall that the Yerevan Municipality, within the framework of public transport reforms, plans to tighten control over payments. The legislative basis for this already exists. Citizens who boycott and do not pay for travel will be fined.
