On September 2, the Day of the Proclamation of the Republic of Artsakh, the Primate of the Diocese of Artsakh, Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, the spiritual pastor of Dadivank, Father Hovhannes, and other clergymen consecrated the "Call of Artsakh" monument built in Yerablur.
The opening ceremony was attended by former high-ranking officials of Artsakh, including the last president Samvel Shahramanyan, representatives of the political field of the Republic of Armenia, relatives of fallen servicemen, and simply people from Artsakh who tried to make September 2 memorable in some way.
"Artsakh was considered a rope around the neck of the Republic of Armenia, which had to be gotten rid of in order to get the opportunity to keep the Republic of Armenia and its sovereignty," said Artsakh President Samvel Shahramanyan at Yerablur.
The sculptor of the monument, Robert Askaryan from Artsakh, detailed what the memorial represents.
"The most important thing for me is the Grandma and Grandpa, one looking that way, the other this way, at the graves, and together with their grandchild they have reached here. It seems to me they will return to Artsakh again. The Artsakh root does not dry up and will always remain in the soil," he said.
Before the opening of the monument, in an interview with the media, Artur Vanetsyan had stated that the monument was built with his family's funds. He also said that during the process, he received warnings from state bodies, and he considers the power outage in the area on the opening day to be deliberate.
