Yemen's internationally recognized government's Minister of Information, Al-Iryani, who is hostile to the Houthis, claims that the Yemeni Houthi organization Ansar Allah is producing chemical weapons using components smuggled from Iran. He made this statement in an interview with the Emirati newspaper The National.
"The Iranian regime has recently smuggled batches of toxic gases and substances used for the production of chemical weapons into the territory under its control," he added.
The information announced by Al-Iryani is the first instance of such an accusation against the Houthis. According to the minister, the Yemeni government's assessment is based on intelligence data received from several "reliable sources," according to which "the militants have already begun preparing the materials, as well as installing them on ballistic missiles and strike drones."
