Woman's Body Found in Lake Sevan, Armenia

On November 15, a mysterious incident occurred in the Gegharkunik province. Around 13:30, operational information was received that there was a dead body in Lake Sevan, in the area of the Writers' Union resort.

As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, it was confirmed on the spot that the operational information was reliable, and a woman's body was found face down in the lake, which was then pulled from the water.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated in the Sevan investigative department regarding the incident. By the decision of the investigator, a forensic medical examination of the body has been appointed. According to the preliminary conclusion of the forensic doctor, no signs of violence were found on the body during the external examination.

The police and the investigative department are establishing the identity of the deceased. Items that likely belong to the deceased were also found on the lake shore.
