White House Eyes Budapest for Potential Trilateral Summit: POLITICO

The White House considers Budapest a possible venue for a US-Russia-Ukraine trilateral summit. POLITICO writes about this, citing sources in the US administration. According to the sources, Hungary is the White House's first choice.
During the meeting in Alaska on August 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin invited US President Donald Trump to Moscow, and French President Emmanuel Macron suggested that the meeting take place in Geneva.
CNN, citing US administration officials, reported that the White House is considering Hungary and Switzerland as possible venues for a future Zelenskyy-Putin meeting, as well as for a subsequent trilateral summit with US President Donald Trump.
According to one official, the US President personally discussed the possibility of holding the meeting in Budapest during a recent telephone conversation with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated at a briefing that she would neither confirm nor deny any venue for a possible meeting. Trump, in turn, stated that it would be better if a bilateral Putin-Zelenskyy meeting took place before the trilateral meeting.
