Von der Leyen: Russia Wages Hybrid War on EU

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has made an unprecedentedly harsh statement, accusing Russia of waging a systematic and escalating hybrid war against the European Union. In her speech at the European Parliament, she called on European countries to "wake up" and accept the new reality, warning of dangerous developments.
"Something new and dangerous is happening in our skies," von der Leyen declared, presenting a telling series of recent incidents. "In the last two weeks alone, MiG fighters have violated Estonia's airspace, and drones have flown over critical facilities in Belgium, Poland, Romania, Denmark, and Germany. Flights have been suspended, fighter jets have been scrambled, and countermeasures have been deployed."
According to the European Commission President, these actions, which also include GPS signal jamming and cyberattacks, are not random incidents. "This is a consistent and growing campaign aimed at dividing our Union and weakening support for Ukraine. And it's time to call things by their name. This is a hybrid war," she emphasized.
In response to these challenges, the European Union is preparing a comprehensive program called "Preserving Peace: Preparedness Roadmap 2030." It envisions a number of ambitious initiatives, including the creation of a "Drone Wall," the implementation of the "Eastern Sentry" project, and the development of crucial defense areas, from air defense to cybersecurity.
