Violence Against Medics to Be Criminalized in Armenia

Violence against a medical worker will be criminalized in the Republic of Armenia.

The draft received a positive conclusion during the session of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly.

It is proposed that violence against a medical worker be punished with a fine in the amount of 10-20 times the maximum salary, or with public works for a duration of 100-200 hours, or with imprisonment for a term of one month to 2 years.

As a reminder, from 2023 to 2025, according to official data, 27 cases of violence against medical workers were registered in the RA.
