Vietnam Evacuates 250,000 as Typhoon Bualoi Nears
28 SEP 2025 09:09
On September 28, Vietnam evacuated thousands of people from the country's central and northern provinces. The reason is that Typhoon "Bualoi" has approached the country faster than expected and is predicted to make landfall later the same day. This is reported by the Associated Press. The storm is expected to cause winds of up to 133 km/h. Warnings have also been issued for heavy rains that could lead to floods and landslides.
On September 28, at 04:00 local time, Vietnam's meteorological agency reported that "Bualoi" was about 200 kilometers east of central Vietnam and was moving northwest.
It was expected to make landfall around 18:00. Authorities have banned fishing boats from going to sea in the northern and central regions and have ordered the evacuation of residents from vulnerable areas by 17:00.
According to official data, more than 250,000 people will be evacuated.
