Venezuelan F-16s Fly Over US Warship in Caribbean

Venezuelan military planes have flown near the US destroyer USS Jason Dunham for the second time in two days. The incident occurred off the coast of South America in international waters, Pentagon sources confirmed to CBS News, calling the actions a "cat-and-mouse game."
Venezuelan F-16 fighter jets flew over the US warship on Thursday night. It is unknown whether they were armed. The Dunham, which is equipped with the Aegis guided-missile system, did not open fire, US officials said. At the same time, the aircraft was within range of its weapons, officials emphasized.
Earlier the same day, two other F-16 fighter jets flew over the same ship. The Pentagon called this an "extremely provocative move," "aimed at hindering counter-narcotics operations."
The USS Jason Dunham is part of a fleet of US warships that, according to the Pentagon, have been deployed to the region to combat criminal organizations and drug terrorism.
The day before, a source familiar with the plans confirmed that the US is sending 10 F-35 fighters to the Caribbean to conduct operations against drug cartels.
