Vance: Europe Must Bear "Lion's Share" of Ukraine Security Costs

US Vice President J.D. Vance has stated that European countries should bear the "lion's share" of the costs of security guarantees for Ukraine. "I don't think we should bear the burden here. I think we should be helpful if it's necessary to stop the war and the killing," said Vance.

Incidentally, the Pentagon has already informed the allies that even outside the NATO format, Washington's participation in the mechanisms for ensuring Ukraine's security will be minimal.

As a reminder, at the beginning of August, it became known that the US and NATO are launching a new mechanism for military assistance to Ukraine, the purpose of which is to provide Kyiv with weapons that can be quickly and in large quantities obtained from the US. However, the European members of NATO and Canada will pay for this.
