DNA Links Suspect to Murder of Head of Parakar Community

The conclusion of the forensic genetic examination in the murder case of Valodya Grigoryan is known.

During the pre-trial investigation of the criminal proceedings initiated in connection with the murder case in Merdzavan, the conclusion of a forensic genetic examination was received.

This was reported by the RA Investigative Committee, noting that according to the conclusion, the DNA isolated from items found during a search, specifically from the surface and strap of binoculars, and from red gloves, matches the genetic profile characteristic of G.H.

On September 24, as a result of an armed attack in Merdzavan, the head of the Parakar community, Valodya Grigoryan, and a police officer, Karen Abrahamyan, were killed. Artur Galstyan was also wounded in the shooting.

Residents of Merdzavan, Narek Ohanyan and Gevorg Harutyunyan, are detained in the case. Narek Ohanyan is charged with aiding and abetting murder, while Gevorg Harutyunyan is charged with murder, attempted murder, and illegal arms trafficking.

Narek Ohanyan is the brother of Grigor Ohanyan, who was murdered in Merdzavan on February 5, and Gevorg Harutyunyan is a friend of the Ohanyan brothers.
