Numerous violations occurred during the Council of Elders elections held in the enlarged community of Vagharshapat, Armavir region. Several local observation missions have recorded dozens of electoral violations, pertaining to both procedural and criminal cases.
Daniel Ioannisyan, a representative of the "Independent Observer" alliance, told journalists that their observers, visiting 40 polling stations, recorded a number of issues. These include three procedural violations, two cases of arguments, three cases of organized voter transportation, and one case of intentionally open voting. Ioannisyan specifically emphasized that there were many cases of open voting, but only one of them was assessed as "intentionally open, meaning to show something, not due to lack of knowledge of regulations."
In addition, one case each of the presence of an unauthorized person at the polling station, threats, and inaction by the electoral commission were also recorded.
Similar violations have also been reported by other observation missions, including the "Tatoyan" Foundation, "Hayakve," and the International Center for Parliamentary Development, which indicates serious problems in the electoral process.
