The United States government plans to create the first working groups with Armenia and Azerbaijan by the end of the current year. The US State Department informed the American bureau of the Azerbaijani Report news agency about this.
The department noted that the US continues to deepen cooperation with both countries based on the agreements reached. "The United States is committed to the implementation of the historic Joint Declarations and Memoranda of Understanding signed in Washington on August 8 and will ensure the creation of the first working groups with both governments by the end of the year," the State Department reported.
Washington also positively assessed the ongoing dialogue and recent practical steps between Armenia and Azerbaijan. It is noted that the US is closely following the meetings between representatives of the two countries.
"We welcome the recent substantive discussions on border delimitation, demining, and infrastructure development in support of the TRIPP project. We also positively assess Azerbaijan's recent decision to allow the transit of goods through its territory to Armenia, as well as the meeting of civil society representatives from both countries in Yerevan," the State Department added, emphasizing that these initiatives will attract private investment and usher in a new era of prosperity for the region.
