US, Georgia Discuss Tbilisi's Role in TRIPP Project

US State Department representative Jonathan Askonas has arrived in Georgia to discuss the country's possible support for the "Trump's Road to International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) initiative. This was reported by the US Embassy in Georgia.
TRIPP is a new transport route that was developed as a result of the peace summit between Armenia and Azerbaijan, mediated by the United States on August 8.
"The purpose of the visit is to discuss how Georgia can support 'Trump's Road to International Peace and Prosperity' (TRIPP)," the embassy statement said.
Within the framework of the visit, Dr. Askonas has already been to the "Sadakhlo" customs checkpoint on the Armenian-Georgian border, which, as noted, was mainly built and equipped with US support. It is planned that the American official will have meetings with representatives of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government administration, as well as international financial institutions to discuss the possibilities and formats of Georgia's involvement in this important regional project.
This visit underscores the US's aspiration to ensure broad regional support for the implementation of the agreements reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
