US Forces Attack Drug Ship from Venezuela, Trump Says

Trump has announced that the United States has carried out an operation in the southern part of the Caribbean basin against a ship loaded with drugs that had left Venezuela.

In the Oval Office, he told reporters that when they leave the room, they will see that minutes ago, the Americans opened fire on a drug-laden ship.

He added that there was "a lot of drugs" on the ship. According to Secretary of State Rubio, the ship owner is a "terrorist drug trafficking organization."

He described the operation as a lethal attack. Recently, Washington sent one of its fleets to the waters near Venezuela to counter Latin American drug cartels.
