US CBP Team in Armenia to Assess Border Security

The US Embassy in Armenia reports that representatives of the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have visited Armenia.

"From September 29 to October 11, a team from the US Customs and Border Protection will work with the Armenian Border Guard Forces to conduct a capabilities assessment and identify areas for improvement through a 'Gaps/Opportunities Analysis Process.' This analytical methodology, which has been successfully applied elsewhere, will help strengthen border security by clarifying areas requiring strategic investment. We are proud to support this first step towards the implementation of our partnership in the development of 'Crossroads of Peace' capabilities, the memorandum for which was signed between President Trump and Prime Minister Pashinyan on August 8 at the White House," the embassy statement reads.
