US Could Monitor Ukraine Buffer Zone After Peace Deal: NBC

If Moscow and Kyiv make peace, Washington could take a leading role in monitoring a buffer zone in Ukraine. This is reported by NBC, citing four sources familiar with a plan being discussed by military representatives of Ukraine's allies, including the US.
This buffer zone could be a vast demilitarized area within the current territory of Ukraine, the borders of which have not yet been determined, the TV channel reports.
The US would monitor the zone using drones, satellites, and other intelligence assets, and would coordinate its actions with other countries.
Troops from non-NATO member countries could be deployed in the buffer zone, writes NBC News. It is assumed that this could be a contingent from Saudi Arabia or Bangladesh.
The borders of the buffer zone have not yet been determined. The article notes that such a plan was developed after the meeting between Putin and Trump in Alaska. It is currently being discussed by military representatives of the US and Ukraine's European allies.
