The number of university admission places has been reduced

For the 2025-2026 academic year, the number of admission places in Armenian universities has decreased, due to a reduction in the number of applicants, which, according to expert Serob Khachatryan, has many reasons. The devaluation of higher education and the high cost of tuition, especially for residents of the regions, contribute to the decrease in the number of applicants. YSU, the University of Economics, and the Polytechnic University are leaders in the number of admitted students, while many departments remained vacant. In addition, the merging of some specializations and the localization of educational programs aim to optimize the places offered by universities.
