UN: People Are Dying of Hunger in Gaza, Says WFP Chief

The head of the UN World Food Program, Cindy McCain, has expressed disappointment and anger at the food crisis in the Gaza Strip, which is escalating amid Israel's ongoing military offensive.

She explained that the food shortage is worsening, and the provision of aid has become difficult due to Israel's continuing military attack. McCain described the food situation in Gaza as "catastrophic." She said:

"There is a very serious problem of malnutrition there. People there are dying of hunger." McCain said: "Humanitarian aid supplies have been stopped because the road has been suddenly closed."
