Ukraine, Russia Trade Blows on Kyiv and Oil Facilities

The conflict between Ukraine and Russia has gained new momentum, with mutual massive strikes overnight. Russian forces launched a combined attack on Kyiv, using various types of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, while Ukrainian forces targeted Russia's most important oil infrastructure.

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the overnight attack has preliminarily resulted in three deaths and 26 injuries. Among the injured are two children, aged 7 and 10, as well as a pregnant woman. Nine of the injured were hospitalized. Klitschko added that rescue operations are ongoing, and the death toll may be updated, as one body has not yet been recovered from the rubble.

According to the police, about 30 residential buildings were damaged in all districts of the city as a result of the attack. The main targets of the strikes were energy facilities in Kyiv and the surrounding region. Debris fell on the territory of a hospital in the Darnytskyi district and a kindergarten in the Holosiivskyi district. An elderly woman was killed in the Desnyanskyi district, and heating has been partially cut off due to damage to heating pipes.

In addition, in the morning, Russia struck the city of Sumy with a "Zircon" hypersonic missile from Crimea. This is the 15th use of this type of missile.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones attacked a number of Russia's most important facilities. A powerful explosion occurred in Novorossiysk at the "Sheskharis" oil terminal, which is the endpoint of the "Transneft" company's pipelines and a strategic hub for the export of Russian oil and oil products via the Black Sea. The operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region confirmed that the terminal was hit and a fire broke out. According to preliminary data, three members of a ship's crew were injured and hospitalized. Coastal structures were also damaged.

At the same time, Saratov also came under attack, where, according to reports, the local oil refinery was hit.
