The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported on two large and successful operations, as a result of which ammunition and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) depots of vital importance for the Russian troops were destroyed.
The first strike hit a drone distribution center. According to the data of the General Staff of Ukraine, this operation was carried out back on August 29, 2025. The Ukrainian military struck a logistics point for the distribution of unmanned aerial vehicles. The Russian side was preparing to transfer more than 19,000 units of various types of UAVs to its troops through this center.
The destroyed cargo included drones such as "Molniya," "Boomerang," "Vandal Novgorodsky," "Gorynych," and others. In addition to the devices themselves, a huge stock of accompanying equipment necessary for their operation was also destroyed, including batteries, communication modules, and video transmitters. As a result of this operation, the entry of a huge batch of strike and reconnaissance UAVs to the front was prevented, which significantly weakened the capabilities of the Russian troops in conducting aerial reconnaissance and targeted strikes.
The second powerful strike was delivered on September 18, this time targeting a field ammunition depot. It was located near the settlement of Bohdanivka, which is under Russian control in the Luhansk region.
In this warehouse, the Russian troops had concentrated ammunition for the 17th Tank Regiment of the 70th Motorized Rifle Division. The trucks had delivered tens of thousands of mines, grenades, and cartridges of various calibers to the warehouse. In addition, thousands of shells for tanks were stored there, including high-precision guided missiles, as well as a large number of artillery shells.
As a result of the strike by the Ukrainian forces, this warehouse was completely destroyed. This means that the Russian tank regiment was deprived of a significant part of the ammunition necessary for its combat operations, according to Ukrainian official sources.
Ukrainian intelligence also reported a rare operation: two Be-12 "Chaika" amphibious aircraft were destroyed in Crimea, and Mi-8 helicopters were hit.
The Be-12s are extremely expensive and rare aircraft, designed for hunting submarines and sea surveillance. For decades, these amphibians have been considered the pride of Soviet and Russian aviation. This is the first time in history that such aircraft have been destroyed in combat, Ukrainian sources note, adding that this is a most serious blow in the Black Sea.
