UK Elevates Azerbaijan Ties to Strategic Partnership

During his visit to Baku, the UK Minister for Europe, Stephen Doughty, announced the elevation of relations between the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan to the level of a strategic partnership.

As noted by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, the discussions focused on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and regional security.

According to official British sources, the visit underscores the UK's renewed commitment to strengthening ties with Azerbaijan, which is recognized as one of the UK's most important strategic partners in the South Caucasus region.

Doughty also had a meeting with the President of Azerbaijan. They discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation in economic development and security, noting Azerbaijan's role in ensuring regional stability and prosperity.
