The UK will establish a new drone production factory

On September 15, the government of the United Kingdom announced the opening of a new unmanned aerial vehicle production factory in Swindon. The factory, which will open in 2026, will be built by the Portuguese company Tekever. According to Secretary of State for Defence John Healey, the opening of the factory will, for the first time, make it possible to produce AR5 drones in the United Kingdom, as well as increase the production capacity of the existing AR3. Swindon has long played an important role in the country's defense, as Supermarine Spitfire fighters were produced here during World War II.

Tekever's new factory will also establish the production of the StormShroud system for the Royal Air Force, which will allow for more active and, at the same time, more protected air operations.
