Turkey, US Prep Energy Deals Ahead of Potential Erdoğan-Trump Meeting

Ankara is preparing a series of energy agreements with the US, including an increase in purchases of American liquefied natural gas. The agreements, which could be signed as early as next week, are aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy and defense.

Erdoğan is also seeking a meeting with Donald Trump in New York within the framework of the UN General Assembly.

The Turkish Ministry of Energy has refused to give official comments on the agreements.
