Turkey Sees 'Trump Road' as Potential China-Europe Route. Bloomberg

The transport route between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which will be under US management, could become part of the trade route between China and Europe if Washington does not restrict its use, Bloomberg agency reported, citing anonymous Turkish officials. According to them, the exclusive right to manage the route will allow the US to decide how it is used.

Therefore, it will depend on Washington's position whether major exporters, including China, can run trade routes through it. As the agency notes, Turkey sees the potential for expanding trade links between China and Europe through this corridor.

As a reminder, the details related to the route were clarified as a result of a trilateral meeting in Washington on August 8 with US President Donald Trump. It will be called the "Trump Road for International Peace and Prosperity."

Armenia has granted the US the right to manage the route for 99 years.
