Turkey's National Security Council, chaired by the country's leader Recep Erdoğan, held a meeting on November 26, during which, among other issues, the peace process in the South Caucasus was discussed. This was reported by the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidential Administration. It is detailed that the discussion also pertained, in particular, to the Armenian-Azerbaijani reconciliation process.
"In light of the recent positive developments in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, opportunities for bilateral and regional cooperation were discussed. The Turkish side's commitment to establishing peace, stability, and ensuring development in the South Caucasus was reaffirmed," the statement said.
It should be recalled that earlier the Turkish Foreign Minister had made a statement, directly linking the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations with the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. Yerevan had countered that statement, urging not to link the processes together.
