Turkey Preps 2,000 Troops for Gaza Despite Israeli Veto

Turkey is actively preparing a brigade of about 2,000 service members to be deployed as part of an international stabilization force to be established in the Gaza Strip. This move is being carried out despite Israel's sharp resistance, which has stated that no Turkish soldier's foot will be in Gaza.
It is planned that the unit will include Turkish army military personnel with experience in peacekeeping missions. This initiative is being discussed with the US and other international partners as part of a plan to stabilize the post-war situation in Gaza.
However, the process faces a number of obstacles. The White House has not yet made a final decision on this issue. In addition, the UN Security Council resolution, which is supposed to regulate the mandate of the international forces and, among other things, provide for the disarmament of Hamas, has not yet been approved.
The situation is further complicated by the concerns of regional actors. Turkey and Egypt are wary that the participation of their troops could draw the countries into a direct conflict. At the same time, Israel does not want to see the presence of a powerful NATO ally's troops in Gaza near its borders.
In fact, despite Ankara's readiness, the prospect of deploying Turkish peacekeepers remains uncertain, depending on a complex political balance and the achievement of an international consensus.
