Turkey Opens Labor Market to Turkic States

Turkish President Recep Erdoğan has signed a decree that radically changes the legal status of foreigners of Turkic origin in the country. This move is seen as another significant step towards the integration of the Turkic world, this time in the labor market.
According to the new decree, citizens of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan will now be able to freely practice their professions and trades in the territory of Turkey. This decision significantly simplifies the complex procedures for obtaining a work permit, eliminating many bureaucratic hassles.
Thus, representatives of the Turkic states will have the opportunity to work in both public institutions and private companies under much more favorable conditions. However, the most revolutionary point of the decree is that the citizens of these countries will no longer be considered "foreigners" in Turkey from the point of view of labor rights. This means that they will be able to participate in the socio-economic life of the country with almost equal rights as Turkish citizens.
Experts assess this step as an important contribution to strengthening cooperation between the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and integrating their labor markets. It will not only facilitate the free movement of qualified specialists but also deepen economic and cultural ties within the OTS, making the "one nation, many states" idea a reality in the economic sphere as well. It is expected that this decision will also stimulate the Turkish economy by attracting new specialists from various fields.
