The third trilateral meeting of the speakers of the parliaments of Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan took place in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, which was marked by the adoption of a joint declaration, strengthening the strategic partnership between the three countries.
The event was attended by the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, and the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
During the meeting, the speakers of the parliaments highly praised the level of relations between their countries and legislative bodies. They expressed confidence that "the meeting will give a powerful impetus to the implementation of the goals and objectives of trilateral parliamentary cooperation."
The key result of the meeting was the adoption of the Islamabad Declaration. The Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, commenting on the document, noted that it "covers all directions of relations between the three countries."
According to her, the declaration also "reflects the common views of the parties on regional and global processes," which testifies to the coordination of political positions not only in bilateral but also in trilateral formats.
This third meeting of the heads of the parliaments of the three countries confirms that the Ankara-Baku-Islamabad axis continues to strengthen ties at the institutional level, forming a unified agenda on issues of common interest.
