The TUMO Center for Creative Technologies has been named the absolute winner of one of the world's most prestigious awards in the field of education, the WISE Prize for Education. This victory has brought the center not only international recognition but also a $1 million grant, awarded for its innovative approach to teaching artificial intelligence.
The competition was extremely fierce and large-scale. Educational projects from all over the world vied for the title of winner; a total of 427 applications were submitted. In the face of this immense competition, the Armenian project first managed to get into the top six, reaching the final stage, and ultimately took first place, leaving the other teams behind.
The key to success was the new artificial intelligence educational program and the AI colearner platform developed by TUMO. This project fundamentally changes perceptions of technology education. While in traditional models, artificial intelligence is often seen as a "teacher" or a transmitter of knowledge, TUMO's approach is completely different. Here, AI acts not as a superior instructor, but as a learning partner.
The system is based on the principle of collaborative learning, which ensures a unique dynamic between the student and the program. The process is built on the following logic:
When a student fully masters the material and is confident in their knowledge, the artificial intelligence "asks them for help," allowing the student to reinforce their knowledge by teaching the system.
In cases where the student faces difficulties or problems, the artificial intelligence takes on the role of a leader, performing the task first and allowing the student to follow its example.
This mechanism creates a living, dynamic system that adapts in real time to each teen's individual learning pace and style.
The competition jury specifically highlighted three main advantages of the Armenian project: innovation, effectiveness, and scalability. According to experts, this model from TUMO opens up a completely new direction for modern education, where direct instruction is not dominant, but rather learning through dialogue.
TUMO declares that the future of education has already arrived. According to the center's philosophy, modern education should be human-centered, flexible, and accessible. It is these principles that form the basis of the new platform that has received international recognition.
It should be noted that the geography of TUMO's influence is expanding. Currently, the network has 18 centers worldwide, attended by more than 32,000 teenagers weekly, receiving modern knowledge and skills.
