The Armenian "Tumo" Center for Creative Technologies will open its doors in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, in 2026. This agreement was announced by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, after negotiations with the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, emphasizing the start of a new stage in the relations between the two countries.
According to the President of Kazakhstan, the fields of artificial intelligence and digitalization are crucial directions for the development of bilateral cooperation. He noted that both countries have achieved significant success in these areas, and they can become a new driving force to stimulate economic development. "This sector is a new locomotive that will allow us to boost the development of the economies of both countries. We have agreed to exchange our experience in the technologies of artificial intelligence and digitalization," Tokayev said.
Within the framework of this cooperation, a new educational-technological platform will be created. President Tokayev detailed: "Next year, the 'Tumo' Astana organization will be created on the basis of the Alem.ai structure."
In addition to the technology sector, the scope of cooperation was expanded during the negotiations to include the fields of education, healthcare, and culture. Intergovernmental agreements were signed to ensure student exchanges. There is also great potential in the healthcare sector: an agreement was reached to mutually hold Days of Kazakh Medicine in Armenia and Days of Armenian Medicine in Kazakhstan.
The leaders of the two countries also emphasized the development of cultural and humanitarian ties. As clear evidence of this, Tokayev mentioned the Armenian Culture Days held in Astana last year, the opening of the Abai Park in Yerevan, and the opening of a street named after Saint Mesrop Mashtots in Astana today. "This expresses the spiritual closeness of our peoples," the President of Kazakhstan concluded, reaffirming the importance of strengthening ties between the two friendly nations.
