Trump at UN: Threats to Moscow, Accusations for Beijing

From the podium of the UN General Assembly, US President Donald Trump made a series of sharp and unexpected statements, targeting not only Russia but also China, India, and even European allies. His speech contained both direct threats and harsh criticism of key players in international politics.
Trump admitted that he expected the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine to be easier than others and repeated his assertion that the military actions would simply not have started during his presidency. "Everyone thought that Russia would win this war in three days, but that didn't happen," he noted, adding that Russia "looks bad" in this conflict.
In this context, the US President sent a clear warning: Washington is ready to impose new tariffs against Russia and its partners if European countries also resort to similar steps. He again called on Europe to completely stop purchasing Russian oil and gas, noting: "Europe cannot 'fight against the RF' and at the same time continue to buy its energy resources; it is shameful."
Trump also directly accused China and India of having a vested interest in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. "They are financing the war against themselves," he stated, alluding to the purchase of cheap Russian energy carriers.
In his speech, Trump made a number of other important statements:
- Iran: He claimed that Iran's nuclear infrastructure was completely destroyed in June as a result of an American bombing.
- Palestine: According to Trump, the recognition of Palestinian statehood is beneficial exclusively to Hamas.
- Biological weapons: He called on the world community to completely abandon the development of biological weapons, considering such research "unimaginably dangerous," and promised that the US will lead the international efforts to implement the relevant convention.
- Migration: Trump accused the UN of financing illegal migration to the US and warned Europe about the migration crisis: "Your countries are going to hell."
- Nuclear weapons: He warned that the use of nuclear weapons would destroy the world, and "there will be no more UN."
