Trump: Ukraine Can Restore Borders with EU Support

US President Donald Trump has made a remarkable statement, noting that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is capable of fighting and returning all its territories to the borders that existed before the start of the war. He wrote about this on his Truth Social page, justifying his position with his awareness of Russia's military and economic situation.

"With time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, NATO, the restoration of the initial borders from where this war began is quite possible. Why not," Trump wrote. He called Russia a "paper tiger," emphasizing that a real military power would have won this war in less than a week. According to the US President, Russia and its President Putin are in serious economic difficulties, and this is the time for Ukraine to act. He added that the US will continue to supply weapons to NATO so that the alliance can do what it deems necessary.

In parallel with this statement by Trump, a meeting took place between him and the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, within the framework of the UN General Assembly. The European official stated that Trump is absolutely right in his demands to European countries to reduce their purchases of Russian energy resources to zero.

"That is exactly what Europe is doing within the framework of our 19th package of sanctions. We are increasing pressure by banning the import of Russian liquefied natural gas to European markets and targeting oil refineries, oil traders, and oil refineries in third countries," noted von der Leyen. According to her, the EU is striving to finally abandon Russian fuel even earlier than planned, in 2027.
