After meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House, US President Donald Trump urged the parties to immediately cease hostilities. He also announced that he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Hungary in the next two weeks, but Zelenskyy will not be present.
On his Truth Social page, Trump described the meeting with Zelenskyy as "very interesting." He detailed his message: "I told him, as I have strongly advised President Putin, that it is time to stop the killing and make a deal. They need to stop where they are." Trump once again emphasized that this war would never have started if he had been president in 2022.
Referring to the upcoming talks with Putin, the head of the White House noted that Volodymyr Zelenskyy will probably not participate in them. However, he assured that he would be in contact with the leader of Ukraine. Trump is convinced that both Putin and Zelenskyy want to stop the war.
The US President also provided details of his recent telephone conversation with Putin. According to him, they discussed the conflicts that the American side has stopped. Trump noted that the Kremlin leader described his efforts as "wonderful," also mentioning Armenia in this context.
