Trump Tariffs Slash US International Mail Volume by 80%

According to data from the Universal Postal Union (UPU), after the imposition of new tariffs by the administration of US President Donald Trump, the international postal flow to the country has sharply decreased. The number of letters and parcels has been reduced by more than 80%.

The UN clarified that 88 countries have completely or partially suspended postal deliveries to the US. This decision is related to the fact that the new tariffs have made deliveries to the country economically unprofitable. The UPU has warned that the continuation of the restrictions could disrupt the global system of international postal transport.
