'Trump Route' to Boost Armenia's Economy, Security: Papoyan

RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan participated in the opening of the annual "Banking Forum 2025" on September 19 and in the panel discussion "Armenia's New Reality as an Economic Shock" organized within the framework of the forum.
The speakers addressed the current situation of the Armenian economy in the context of the impact of global and regional changes. Economic challenges, as well as the emerging risks and opportunities, were discussed.
During the discussion, Gevorg Papoyan spoke about the main indicators of the development of the Armenian economy, development prospects, and the state support tools aimed at ensuring the dynamic growth and increasing the efficiency of the sector.
"Our policy is based on ensuring productivity growth, developing a competitive, technologically advanced industry, continuously improving the business environment, clearly increasing the role of investments in economic development, as well as continuously increasing the efficiency and intensity component in agriculture, promoting and diversifying exports," the minister noted.
Referring to the implementation of the "Trump's Path" project and new communication routes, the minister noted that the implementation of these programs will create 2 effects: security and economic prospects. Armenia will be able to not only export and import many goods but also significantly reduce its dependence on certain markets.
This year's conference is being held under the theme "The Future of the Banking System: Sustainable Development of Innovations and Prospects."
The other participants in the discussion were RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan, President of the Union of Banks of Armenia Daniel Azatyan, CEO and co-founder of "Team Telecom Armenia" Hayk Yesayan, and Dean of the Manoogian Simone College of Business and Economics at the American University of Armenia, Vache Gabrielyan.
The participants include representatives of Armenian and international financial institutions from the USA, Great Britain, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Poland, Greece, and Georgia.
The banking forum was organized by the Union of Banks of Armenia in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Banking Association for Central and Eastern Europe, and the Central Bank of the RA.
