US President Donald Trump has made an ambitious statement regarding his economic policy, claiming that the import tariffs he initiated will supplement the country's budget by more than $1 trillion annually. He presented this notable viewpoint during an interview with One America News.

According to Trump, this policy has already yielded significant financial results. He emphasized that the United States Treasury has already been enriched by more than $200 billion thanks to the implemented tariffs. However, the president is convinced that this is just the beginning, and the tariffs "are only now beginning to bear their real fruit," hinting at even greater revenues in the future.

In his remarks, Donald Trump once again addressed the main goal of the strategy he has adopted. He has repeatedly insisted that the high tariffs applied to most countries of the world are simply a defensive mechanism aimed at protecting the American manufacturer and the national economy.

It is worth recalling that earlier, speaking from the high rostrum of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, Trump had stated that Washington is open to trade relations with all countries, but with one important condition: the partnership must be based on the principles of fairness and reciprocity.
