Trump Calls Russia the "Aggressor" in Ukraine War: Politico

Trump finally called Russia an "aggressor" in the war in Ukraine. The publication Politico wrote about this and recalled that the US President emphasized this in a conversation with journalists:

"This week, 8,000 soldiers from both sides have been killed. More have been killed on the Russian side, but being the attacker, the losses are greater."

As the publication recalls, in the past, Donald Trump had refused to condemn Russia for the invasion. In February 2025, his administration had effectively stood with Russia and North Korea by rejecting a UN resolution that supported Ukraine's territorial integrity and condemned Russia.

In February, the US had also opposed a G7 statement that called Russia an "aggressor."
