Trump Asked Aliyev Why He Didn't Continue Attack: Witkoff

In one of his interviews, a high-ranking Washington official touched upon Armenian-Azerbaijani topics. Specifically, the US President's special representative, Steve Witkoff, shared details from the Trump-Pashinyan-Aliyev trilateral meeting held in Washington on August 8.

"Trump asked Aliyev why he had stopped and not continued the attack in the war against Armenia. In response, Aliyev said, 'I only needed what they had taken, I didn't need anything more.' And this is a wonderful decision because going forward would have offended Pashinyan internationally. This is an example of a statesman," Witkoff said.
