Ter-Petrosyan to Pashinyan: Cancel Rally Before It's Too Late

The first President of the Republic of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, has issued a publication addressing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan: "Honorable Mr. Prime Minister, before it is too late, cancel your decision to hold a rally in Vagharshapat and immediately release the political prisoners, first and foremost, Archbishops Bagrat and Mikael, and Samvel Karapetyan.

I am confident that this step will be viewed by both our people and the international community not as a sign of weakness, but as a demonstration of statesmanship and prudence. Otherwise, Mr. Prime Minister, you will become the sole person responsible for possible clashes and bloodshed, earning the infamous glory of Father Gapon," wrote the first President, calling on the citizens of the RA not to participate in the Prime Minister's planned rally under any circumstances to avoid its unpredictable consequences.
