Tatoyan Foundation Reports Preliminary Findings of Vagharshapat Elections
16 NOV 2025 17:43
The "Tatoyan" Foundation, Center for Law and Justice, conducted an observation mission in Vagharshapat community today, November 16, starting from 7:30 AM, visiting all 47 polling stations throughout the day.
During the voting, mobile observation groups recorded a number of apparent violations, which related to:
- Voter guidance at polling stations,
- Open voting,
- Uneven quantities of ballots,
- Accumulations of people near both voting booths and ballot boxes,
- Lack of knowledge of voting procedures by individuals participating in the voting, which led to various violations of election rules, such as taking unused ballots out of the voting booth, incorrectly placing ballots in envelopes, etc. In separate recorded cases, commission chairmen responded and eliminated the violations on the spot. In some cases, commission members refused to include the recorded violation in the registry.
- Near some polling stations, there were large crowds of people who did not maintain the established permissible distance.
Cases that are not violations in themselves but could generally affect the elections were also recorded, for example, a power outage at one of the polling stations, periodic arrival of large groups (8-10 people) at polling stations, and so on.
"Tatoyan" Foundation observers will also monitor the ballot counting process.
