Syria's New Gov't Vows to Hold Assad Accountable
11 NOV 2025 10:47
Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa has announced that the country's new government intends to hold Bashar al-Assad accountable for crimes committed against his own people. He emphasized that Russia "in one way or another participated in the war against the Syrians," and for that very reason, the issue of extraditing Assad and other officials has been discussed in the ongoing negotiations with Moscow.
According to al-Sharaa, a special justice commission has already been established, whose task is to ensure the punishment of all perpetrators. This step aims to restore justice and open a new page in Syria's history.
