The highest level of alert has been declared in Southern China due to the approach of the powerful super typhoon named "Ragasa." According to the latest data, authorities have evacuated approximately 1.9 million people in an effort to prevent casualties from the approaching natural disaster.
In dozens of cities, including Guangdong province, which is expected to bear the main impact, schools have been closed, and the operations of businesses and public transport have been suspended. In Guangdong province alone, according to the emergency management department, more than 1,044,000 people have been preemptively evacuated. About 400,000 residents have been evacuated from the most dangerous areas of the city of Shenzhen.
The Hong Kong Observatory has recorded a maximum wind speed of 195 km/h at the storm's epicenter. Meteorologists are forecasting gale-force winds, torrential rains, and widespread flooding.
It is expected that from September 24-25, "Ragasa" will hit Hainan Island, Guangdong province, the Guangxi-Zhuang Autonomous Region, as well as the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau. The typhoon will also affect Yunnan province.
Given the seriousness of the situation, many countries have urged their citizens to reconsider their travel routes and postpone visits to China, especially to the dangerous regions.
