On October 8, RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan received Figen Ilgaz, Vice President of Starbucks-Alshaya Group Eurasia, and Hanzade Kuğu, Director of Real Estate, to discuss the possibilities of Starbucks entering the Armenian market. Deputy Minister Anushik Avetyan and "Enterprise Armenia" CEO Gohar Abajyan were also present at the meeting. This was reported by the RA Ministry of Economy.
At the beginning of the meeting, the guests briefly presented Starbucks' mission, noting that this major chain is currently represented in about 86 countries, has more than 40,000 coffee shops, and is interested in expanding its activities in the region.
Afterward, the parties discussed the development opportunities of Armenia's café sector, touching upon the existing potential in the field, possibilities for improving infrastructure, and the specifics and growth trends of the coffee consumption market in Armenia.
"Attracting high-quality international investments is a priority for Armenia, and we value your visit as a promising step in that direction. Armenia offers a stable, open, and reform-oriented business environment, based on young human resources with high educational potential, continuous growth in the tourism sector, as well as a dynamically developing and competitive consumer market," noted Gevorg Papoyan.
During the meeting, the Minister expressed his readiness to support the company's presence in the Armenian market, emphasizing that this step will also greatly contribute to the increase of tourist flows to our country.
