29 JUL 2025 16:46
The trial in the case of Sona Mnatsakanyan, the pregnant woman who died after being run over by the Prime Minister's motorcade in 2022, has concluded in the Yerevan Criminal Court.
The defender of the accused Aram Navasardyan stated that the charge is completely unfounded and motioned for an acquittal.
The prosecutor insisted that the charge has been fully proven and motioned for a guilty verdict.
The victim's side also motioned to find Navasardyan guilty of violating traffic rules and to terminate the criminal prosecution under the article for leaving the scene of the incident on the grounds of decriminalization of the act (a non-acquittal basis).
The court, presided over by Judge Karen Farkhoyan, has retired to a separate room to issue a verdict.
